Upcoming Trainings

My upcoming training events are listed below. If you would like to find out more about scheduling a workshop or speaking engagement, please contact me.

My next quarterly NUTS & BOLTS WORKSHOP will be part of the fourth GRANT PROPOSAL BOOT CAMP on November 9th, 2017 at THE IMPACT FOUNDRY, 2031 K STREET, Sacramento 95811 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (The Impact Foundry was formerly known as the Nonprofit Resource Center.) This training is all about the basics and how to refine your skills as a proposal writer. You’ll learn what to include so you’ll have comprehensive and compelling proposals while avoiding the common errors. I will cover how to present your proposal in a clear, concise format that responds to what funders are looking for. At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave knowing what needs to be in your “boilerplate toolbox” so you can create a solid foundation for your proposals AND be ready to respond quickly to funding opportunities while staying relatively sane! Register for this class through The Impact Foundry’s website ( or call Mikey Langlois at 916-569-8557.

The BOOT CAMP series will be presented again on January 17 and 18, and April 18 and 19, 2018. My workshop will be on January 18th and April 19th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on both of those dates.

MARK YOUR 2018 CALENDARS! I’ll be presenting the first GRANT PROPOSAL MASTER SERIES with Suzanne Linebarger my excellent colleague, in four sessions, beginning on Wednesday, May 30th, 2018. Sessions continue on Wednesdays, June 6th and 13th, with the final session on Wednesday, June 27th. This high impact series for more experienced grant writers will provide theoretical information and practical tools PLUS the opportunity to put the theory into practice under the guidance of two highly experienced proposal development professionals. Activities will include creating a Logic Model with Suzanne’s guidance, and developing Goals, Objectives and Outcomes for organizational programs with my guidance. Over the course of these sessions, attendees will develop a more in-depth understanding of techniques and strategies to create successful grant proposals. They will also prepare a full proposal, which will receive individual review and feedback from one of the presenters at the last session.
