Getting That Grant – The Nuts and Bolts
On February 2, 2010, I’ll be presenting this 4-hour workshop at the Nonprofit Resource Center, 1331 Garden Highway, Sacramento, California from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This workshop is all about the basics and refining your skills as a proposal writer. You will learn what to include so you’ll have comprehensive and compelling proposals while avoiding the common errors. I will cover how to present your proposal in a clear, concise format that responds to what funders are looking for. At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave knowing what needs to be in your “boilerplate toolbox” so you can create a solid foundation for your proposals AND be ready to respond quickly to funding opportunities while staying relatively sane! A Beginner’s Guide to Budgeting for Grant Proposals
On February 23, 2010, I’ll present this 4-hour workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Nonprofit Resource Center, 1331 Garden Highway, Sacramento, California. Are you new or pretty new at working with budgets for grant proposals? Are you a grant writer, program director, development officer, or someone who has to work with budgets to support the grant process? This basic workshop is for beginners or almost-beginners to help you understand how to create winning program budgets for grant and contract proposals. Discussion will include forecasting direct program costs, recovering shared and overhead costs, matching budgets to scope of work descriptions in proposals, and creating a budget justification that inspires confidence. We’ll work together on a program budget so you can be part of the process right away. Bring a copy of a recent proposal budget and a calculator.
