Golden Rule Services receives three grant awards from the County of Sacramento

Another of my clients, Golden Rule Services, reported this morning that they received THREE grant awards from the County of Sacramento’s Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health, for HIV/AIDS education and prevention programs.

Salvation Army, Lodi Corps receives $90,000

I wrote two grant proposals for The Lodi Corps of The Salvation Army in February and March, both of which were funded. Kaiser Permanente funded $50,000 for healthcare services for homeless clients in the Lodi Shelter and The City of Lodi funded $40,000 for a wheelchair ramp at the Shelter.

Technical Assistance for 11 Grantees

I’m currently providing Technical Assistance for 11 grantees who’ve been selected by Citibank, Las Vegas to receive extra help– paid for by that Citibank. I’m working with these grantees to review past proposals, to help them refine their funding arguments in proposals to be submitted in April and May, and to help them think through the budget preparation process to be sure all costs are included and allocated appropriately.

June 8, 2010 – “Funder-Friendly” Budgeting for Grant Proposals for the Nonprofit Resource Center, Sacramento

June 10, 2010 – Workshop for prospective applicants seeking funding from Catholic Healthcare West

January 14, 2010 – A training workshop for the Yolo County Department of Human Resources.

December 14, 2010 – A half-day training workshop for an organization in Marysville, California.

On November 12, 2009 I’ll be presenting a half-day workshop for the Center for Human Services in Modesto, California.

November 13, 2009 – A second free workshop sponsored by California Assemblyman Roger Niello at Orangevale Community Center from 10:30 to noon.

I’ll be presenting two half-day grant writing workshops on HOW TO BE READY TO APPLY FOR STIMULUS FUNDING for California Senator Darrell Steinberg’s office on Saturday, June 27, 2009 and Saturday, July 18, 2009. Check “Upcoming Trainings” for more information.

And …a 90 minute workshop on the same subject for California Assemblyman Roger Niello on Wednesday, June 3, 2009.

Recent Clients: New or returning clients over the past few months include St. John’s Shelter Program for Women and Children, Mercy Foundation Perinatal Recovery Network, Language Academy of Sacramento, Foundation for Pool & Spa Industry Education, Opening Doors Inc., Education for Healthy Choices, The Salvation Army Del Oro Division, Wonder Inc., Natomas Schools Foundation, Families for Adults Living With Autism, California Rural Water Association, Lodi Memorial Hospital Foundation, and Sacramento Ten-Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness.

I was asked to present a four-hour workshop at the U.S. Surgeon General’s Medical Reserve Corps National Leadership and Training Conference in April 2009. I was sorry to have to decline because of other commitments.

I’ll be in Portland, Oregon in April 2008 making presentations at the U.S. Surgeon General’s Medical Reserve Corps National Leadership and Training Conference.

2008 clients include: The Salvation Army, The Jewish Federation of the Greater Sacramento Region, Californians Health Alliance, Lodi Memorial Hospital Foundation, Education for Healthy Choices, Mercy Foundation/Sacramento County Department of Transportation, Opening Doors Inc.
